Entry one

My subject question is: How are beauty products targeted at women aged 18 - 24

I have decided to focus on beauty product advertisement because it is something that influences older women around me.

I find this topic an interesting subject matter because it focuses on advertising and the techniques used to convince or manipulate people. In my opinion, I think smart and crafty wording are used in the anti ageing adverts, convincing women that growing old is somewhat unnatural and it needs to be fought against, by using their products.

I arrived at this question, from contemplating about anti aging products, i questined myself asking are these companys genuanly concerned abouot their customers welfare or do they just want to make money. In order to answer this question, i made reaserch I watched a variety of anti ageing adverts, such as Olay and Loreal. I listened to the wording of the adverts and realised how, the wording used could influence the way that wiomen think about themselves, it could make them think that they are getting too old or that they are too wrinkly, when in actually fine.

My first steps of research included the use of the internet and articles. I also looked at surveys to see the what women are like when it  comes to aging.
